We have had the pleasure of working with Adrian Bentley of Just Good Ideas and three students from Salford University and together have come up with the Go Hungry Campaign. We are going to give it a go next week and hopefully make it a regular feature of our yearly calendar. While the aim is to raise much needed funds for the work of the Mustard Tree we also want to distribute some of the funds raised to some of the other excellent homeless charities across Greater Manchester. The idea is explained below:

Go Hungry is a fundraising campaign designed to support the tens of thousands of adults and children across Greater Manchester who live in poverty and struggle to afford the basics in life.
Go Hungry is asking people to skip lunch for one day during the Poverty & Homelessness Action Week (28th January – 5th February), and simply donate the money they otherwise would have spent. We aim to engage people to consider their own lives and actions in contrast to the day to day lifestyle of the disadvantaged population, who usually do not have the option of deciding whether to eat or not.
