One of our brilliant long term volunteers, Marc Frobisher, has just embarked on his 230 miles walk to raise money for Mustard Tree’s food store. Below is a brief description of his challenge:
My sponsored walk starts on April 1st 2012, and I will be walking
230miles, to raise funds to ensure our essential emergency food parcel
provision is able to continue well into 2013.
I am walking from Berwick upon Tweed via Holy Island, hoping I judge
the Causeway tides correctly, along the beaches that make up the
Northumberland Coast Path, until I turn inland towards Newcastle Upon
Tyne.
I’ll follow the Hadrians Wall Path and visit the Vindolanda
excavations, and meander along until I can join the Pennine Way.
And then it is all downhill….
….all the way to Uppermill near Oldham, where I will be joined by my
colleagues.
We will then follow the Huddersfield Canal into Ashton under Lyne, and
cross a bridge and walk the Ashton Canal, eventually arriving at the
front door of Mustard Tree at around 5:00pm.
