Mustard Tree’s Round-Up
No Chuckin Our Chicken

No Chuckin Our Chicken
We’ve recently struck up a fantastic partnership with our local Nandos branch, who regularly donate food to us as part of their ‘No Chuckin our Chicken’ campaign.
The global donation program secures food from their restaurants that was otherwise headed for anaerobic digestion to produce electricity and fertilizer – and redistributed to charities across the UK.
The support couldn’t have come at a better time, with our food costs on the rise and welcoming increasing numbers of class participants for lunch.
Express Yourself
Our Monday textiles drop-in is becoming popular with our clients and Freedom trainees – here’s Rose sporting a dress she made from her very first attempt of working with a sewing machine and patterns.
We also want to thanks Streetwise Opera, who hosted a taster session for our Freedom trainees and clients, which took part in our performance space yesterday.
With many of our creative sessions having to migrate online during the pandemic, it’s wonderful to see people back in our spaces.
Reducing isolation through a strong welcome can be key to our peoples’ mental wellbeing – as summed up through the below Google Review we received this week:
“Whenever or whatever situation I’ve been in especially mentally, the staff at Mustard Tree have made time and helped me regardless. It’s the only place I can truly open up – thank you to all those at Mustard Tree. I wouldn’t be where I am today and have a gorgeous daughter without their help”.
If you know someone who needs help or could benefit from our classes and training work-streams, please direct to our online referral form.

Ward Williams Surveyors
Special thanks to all our recent corporate volunteers, who have been regularly supporting us with Food Club, Community Shop and warehouse tasks – including the team from Ward Williams Surveyors, who enjoyed a day out on the vans collecting furniture donations with Haydn.

Can you help us combat poverty and prevent homelessness?
If you enjoy reading our newsletter and want to support our work, the best way you can do this is by joining the Real 10k and setting up a regular gift to help keep our services running. We have an aim to recruit 10,000 donors – each giving £5 a month – to help secure our charity for years to come – and create lasting change across Manchester and Salford.

To our partners who are already supporting us with a monthly donation, please share this newsletter with friends, family members and colleagues – and thank you so much for all your ongoing support. Your kind donations are vital for us to continue our work and much appreciated by us all.
