LEGAL EAGLES SPONSOR THE HOMELESS

One of Manchester’s top legal recruitment firms is using its business skills to help people in need after choosing Manchester homeless charity the Mustard Tree as its nominated charity for the next year.

Martyn Maund, MD of Icon Search and Selection, will be using his considerable clout in Manchester’s business community to pull in much-needed funds and support for the charity, which works with homeless and marginalised families and individuals across Greater Manchester.

Icon have already organised and hosted several successful events including a fish, chips and champagne supper, which raised more than £1000 for Mustard Tree. The charity also has the support of the Icon Grumpy Club, whose members have visited the charity’s Ancoats base several times and have taken the charity to their hearts.

Members of the business community will also be taking part in future fundraising events including the tough Welsh 3000s Challenge, covering 14 peaks in one day, and the Bupa Great Manchester Run in May.

“I have always been concerned about homeless people, particularly as we are one of the wealthier countries in the world, a Liberal Democracy and have a social welfare state which is supposed to look after those less fortunate than us” said Martyn Maund

“Also, over the years I have often been informed that many of the homeless are ex military, as I am.   I therefore decided to do something to help earlier in the year and have thus formed the connection with The Mustard Tree – an organization which never ceases to amaze me”.
